Hi all...
Our office plan to have DRC Server on our site office and we're plan to use ODG (Oracle Data Guard).
I never implement how to do that, but I have a step by step how to do that.
My question regarding SAP and the production data is : Do we have to install SAP on standby server or can we just copy volume group from production server to standby server ? :?: if so, how to do that?
Note : we're using Tivoli for backup and we implement load balancing using HACMP.
Need some help
Thanks in advance
Regards,
Della
Hi
My suggestion is to restore the backup to the standby server and use the process change SID....
As it would give you the exact data n saves time.
Then u can perform your activities.

Hi
Sorry for late reply,
Yes you have to do the installation. Its like a new server which would be having the same data as of current production server.
The only difference is different SID.
Both the SIDs are configured in Oracle Data Guard configuration and whenever you got the problem in one server the other server would come into picture and it would start the work.
