Hi Ruediger,

First of all, thanks for your help,

If I go to Goto -> Settings -> Task-Specific, Session Data Collection -> RFC Destinations -> Settings

click on "Table Icon", in my SAP Solution Manager System(SID=SMT), sdccn transaction, I have:

Description: Destination: SID Install.Number master active toSAP

... SDCC_OSS O02 0120050410 X X

... SM_SMTCLNT010_BACK SMT 0020313531 X X

If I check both RFCs are OK

Do you think that they are right?

Thanks and Regards

Hi Raul,

I can not see from your reply, what's marked as a master and "to SAP"?

SDCC_OSS or SM_SMTCLNT010_BACK

It should be SDCC_OSS

Hi Ruediger,

Sorry but my reply didn't keep the format:

At my SAP Solution Manager(SID=SMT) system:

SDCC_OSS has check box, "active" and "to SAP"

SM_SMTCLNT010_BACK has check box, "master" and "active"

So You typed me that SDCC_OSS RFC destination should have checked "master" and "to SAP", I think that RFC destination SM_SMTCLNT010_BACK should be the master because SMT is the master system(Solution Manager system), are you right with me?

Thanks¡¡¡

Hi Raul,

Thanks for the details.

As SMT is your SAP Solution Manager itself, there is not need to have a "Back" destination pointing to the same Solution Manager.

SMT should be the master and get the service definitions from SAP.

In systems (so called satellite systems) connected to SAP Solution Manager, the Back Destination should point to Solution Manager SMT and they should be marked as "Master". This ensures, that the satellite systems get the service definitions from SolMan system SMT.

Recommend actions for system SMT:

- Make SDCC_OSS as the master destination pointing to SAP.

- Remove SM_SMTCLNT010_BACK from the table

- Add None (set active) to the table

- Perform again "Maintain Service Definitions" and check the log of the task.

If this was helpful, we need to evaluate to enhance "Maintain Service Definition" to identify this special (not optimal) configuration.

Best regards,

Ruediger

I'm an SAP employee. I know the difference between service.sap.com and SDN.

I did not find your message on SV-SMG-SDD.

I had the same problem and i solved it by removing an solman user old lock entry in SM12. Maybe related to an older EWA session that got hanged. Hope it helps.

Hi Ruediger,

I've tested RCFs: SAPOSS, SDCC_OSS, SAP-OSS, SAP-OSS-LIST-O01 work fine.

I've done all steps that you mention at sdccn transaction, so I've revised the log for the new task "Refresh service definitions" and during hours the log isn't update:

Hi Raul,

10.06.2008 17:37:54 > Refresh service definitions started /BDL/BDL3 085 S

How many hours is this entry the last entry of the task log?

What's defined as the "Master System" for Service Definitions?

- run SDCCN

- choose Goto -> Settings -> Task-Specific, Session Data Collection -> RFC Destinations -> Settings

- click on "Table Icon"

- a Destination "to SAP" should be marked as "Master"

Hi Raul,

Please perform the following and check the log of the generated task:

- Run transaction SDCCN

- Choose in the menu Menu Utilities -> Maintain Service Definitions -> Select 'Delete and Replace Service Definitions -> Confirm this

selection -> Confirm that you want to delete the definitions -> Confirm that a new task 'Service Definition Refresh' was created

- Take a note of the task id -> Review the log for this task id when it is completed. You should not see any errors for either the update of a Service Definitions table or the generation of any re-import include.

Best regards,

Ruediger
