hello all,
i tried installing SAP 4.7 with oracle database 8.7.1.0 and patch 8.7.1.1
installed everything successfully.. made entries in host file...
now the problem is from the SAP service... SAPPEP_00
PEP is the System ID...
when i start the win 2003 server, i get a warning message... please check one of the services has failed to start and that service is SAPPEP_00
hope this failure affects the DOCU_READ function module in the initialization of Database and finally it causes failure in the verification of hostname.
the error message displayed is DBIF_RSQL_INVALID_REQUEST
how to fix this issue?
please help..
Thank you ppl...

Oracle 8i is LONG out of support.

What do you see in the event log?

This error means, that in the database interface and error occurred. Without the full dump it´s impossible to suggest something (first 10 pages).

hi markus,
the same problem is discussed in my previous thread too...
i get the error that your hostname (LOCALHOST) cannot be verified...
the error happens and i could not do anything...
the error message says that
Hi to all,
when i try to login to the SAP server, i am getting an ABAP Runtime Error as DBIF_RSQL_INVALID_REQUEST. Also it says that The current ABAP/4 program terminated due to an internal error in the database interface.
I could not do anything in the GUI other than clicking the LOGON button and the error messages. Please help me to solve this issue.
localhost is my system name.
thank you...
when i was installing with SAP DB also i got the same problem, i guess...
shall i install Oracle 10g and proceed... will it support...
moreover, the IP address of my SAP system is 127.0.0.1
in the loopback adapter, i provided 192.168.1.1 and also in the host file, i removed 127.0.0.1 and gave this only...
but still the error comes??
what to do now??

sure - if you remove the localhost entry 127.0.0.1 then the system can´t find the localhost and thus dumps...
add it back, restart the system and try again.
Markus
The machine name is LOCALHOST..
Hmm... not sure if this will work, that´s a reserved name...
shall i proceed with Oracle 10g... instead installing 8i.
you should use at least 9.2
will it support SAP Kernel 620...
No - you should use kernel 6.40 - to install with a newer database version you need a special CD.
i could not upload... i don have the username and pass..
No upload?
Markus
sorry.. i could not download from service market place..
i don have the username and passs.. shall i proceed with kernel 620 itself?? whether 9.2 also needs new kernel 640??
kernel 6.20 is out of maintenance and 9.2 won´t work with the kernel 6.20. If you don´t have a user and password to download then you´re pretty much on your own - seems you got your software via some dubious channels...
Your main problem is the "localhost" - I´d rename the machine to another name, put that new name into the hosts file and reinstall with that new name.
Markus
