Division error

Hi

I am getting following error when creating sales order

"division XX in the header deviates from division YY in the item"

how to overcome this error

In transaction VOV8, against your sales document type check assignment in the field 'check division'.

If the header division is not equal to item division, system gives error message reported by you.

May be you are trying to change division at item level.

I want system to copy division maintained in material master record to be copied to sales order. How to configure this?

Go to transaction VOV8 for your sales document type and place check mark against 'item division'.

this would solve your requirement.

Hi Simon,

This error means you are maintaining different division against the material from the division maintained in the Sales area.

Secondly if you are maintaining the common division but getting the error then you have to go to VOV8 .For the document type you are using, in the General Control-Check division there is a box which should be blank. If '2' is maintained then it will give an error.

Also if you want the system to check the material master then the check box against 'Item division' should be selected.

Hi simon

Go to VOV8 and uncheck the box check division .If it is checked system will check wheather in MMR and in sales order header divisions are same or not , if both are different then system will give a message
