Hi ,
we are installing SAP on ORACLE with AIX as OS.
The installation is failing in IMPORT ABAP phase
following is the error:
sapparam: sapargv( argc, argv) has not been called.
sapparam(1c): No Profile used.
sapparam: SAPSYSTEMNAME neither in Profile nor in Commandline
/usr/sap/R3I/SYS/exe/run/R3load: START OF LOG: 20080607094337

Really strange error...
Did you manually update your kernel?

No , i have not manually installed the kernel .....
The problem was the sapinst was not able to run the command
/usr/sap/R3I/SYS/exe/run/R3load -testconnect from the user <SID>adm , when i checked the users home directory none of the enviormental variables where set, all the .(dot) files where in compressed format .
What we did is uncompressed all the .(dot) files and restarted the sapinst ...and it worked..
