'System Copied' system with J2ee status info not available...

Hi. We installed a ECC 6 Server (abap+java) with MSSQL 2005 with SID:T13 & updated all patches in the system. Later we did a system copy & named it a T14.

IN SE06 (post-installation activity); First we selected 'standard installation' instead of 'database copy / migration'. When we restarted the SAP system, the 'disp+work' process gave stats as 'j2ee status info unavailable'. Hence, second time selected 'Database Copy or Database Migration' and did post-installation activity.

In both cases 'developer Trace' of 'disp+work' give the same error.

I had also faced the same problem....

Firstly do the changes as mentioned in SAP NOTE 831812. If still U face the same problem, check your

Java parameter string throughConfig tool (D:\usr\sap\<SID>\DVEBMGS00\j2ee\configtool)

After System Copy, when I compared the Java Parameter String , found that the source system entries still existed in target system..hence the java instance was not coming up..

So had to make the changes manually (replace the source system entries with the target one's).

After doing that, restart the Server.

Start SAP Instances and your JAVA instance should start.

Get back, if there is any problem.

Did the system copy by EXPORTING the data from T13 ((via sapinst)). Path in sapinst = "SAP ERP 2005 Support release 2 >> Additional Software Life-Cycle Tasks >> System Copy >> MSSQL Server >> Source System >> Central System >> Based on AS ABAP and AS JAVA" & Importing to a New Server.

On T14 again Imported the export file via "SAP ERP 2005 Support release 2 >> Additional Software Life-Cycle Tasks >> System Copy >> MSSQL Server >> Target System >> Central System >> Based on AS ABAP and AS JAVA"

How do i correct the communication error?.

The communication error is a result of a non-started ABAP part.

look at \usr\sap\SID\DVEBMGS<instance_no>\j2ee\cluster\server0\log

check applications.0.log or defaultTrace.0.trc.

don't paste the whole file it's too large.

Checked the dev_bootstrap & dev_ms logs. They are the same as the system T13. But std_server0 log is missing/not created in T14.

dev_bootstrap shows successful creation of JVM & exit with exit code zero.

In addition, Iu2019ve checked u2018instance.propertiesu2019 of Java in T14. The parameter instance.enable is set to u2018nou2019 in t14. whereas it is set as u2018yesu2019 in t13. I changed the value to u2018yesu2019 in t14 & restarted SAP system but the effect is still the same.
