Problems installing the package SAPKIIBIIP1 of BI_CONT

Hello colleagues :

I am trying to install the packages SAPKIIBIIP1 to SAPKIIBIIP9. I am working under Windows Server 2003,SAP NetWeaver 7.0 and the component is the BI_CONT 7.03.

The message i get is:

Error in phase :DDIC_ACTIVATION

Reason for error:TP_STEP_FAILURE

Return code:0008

Error message:OCS Package SAPKIBIIP1,tp step A, return code 0008

Could anyone help me? I tried to read notes and search in the forums but, i did not find an appropiate solution.

can you post the full error message? (meaning the one on the logs?)

As far as i can see you are importing Support Packs in bulks... have you read the "known issues" notes for each one of them?...

Yes i have read the Known issues , but i did not find a solution for my problem.

The complete message I get is:

The import was stopped, since an error occurred during the phase

DDIC_ACTIVATION, which the Support Package Manager is unable to resolve

without your input.

After you have corrected the cause of the error, continue with the

import by choosing Support Package -> Import queue from the initial

screen of the Support Package Manager.

The following details help you to analyze the problem:

- Error in phase: DDIC_ACTIVATION

- Reason for error: TP_STEP_FAILURE

- Return code: 0008

- Error message: OCS Package SAPKIBIIP1, tp step A, return code

0008

Notes on phase DDIC_ACTIVATION

In this phase the imported Dictionary objects are activated. This phase

can terminate due to the following reasons:

o TP_INTERFACE_FAILURE: The tp interface could not be called.

o TP_FAILURE: The program tp could not be executed. For more

information, see the SLOG or ALOG log file.

o TP_STEP_FAILURE: The tp step DDIC activation could not be performed

successfully. To see the cause of the error in the activation log,

choose Goto -> Log -> Queue.

If you import two or more Support Packages in one queue, and you do not activate them in the correct sequence, activation errors may

occur. In this case, the activation errors disappear when you repeat

the activation run. To do this, choose Support Package -> Import

Support Package Queue.

A prerequisite of the Support Package Manager is that the Change and

Transport System (CTS) is configured correctly. For more detailed

information, read the online documentation available from Help -> SAP

Library -> mySAP Technology Components -> SAP Web Application Server ->

Change and Transport System .

A list of the most important SAP Notes for Online Correction Support

(OCS) is available in SAP Note 97620, which is updated regularly.

Hi all

I encounterd the same problem as you guys during import of SAPKIBIIP6 and found a working solution in sapnote 1152612.

1. Use transaction RSA1 to call the Data Warehousing Workbench.

2. Check whether the InfoObject 0TCTLSTCHG was already activated by the compilation process the first time you called transaction RSA1. You can use transaction RSD1 to check this by entering 0TCTLSTCHG in the "InfoObject" field and choosing "Display". Proceed as follows if the InfoObject is still not active:

3. Go to BI Content activation.

4. Select "Object Types".

5. Open the "InfoObjects" tree and select "Objects".

6. Search for the InfoObject 0TCTLSTCHG and select it.

7. Transfer the object and activate it.

These steps activate the required component type /BI0/OITCTLSTCHG. You can check again in transaction RSD1 to ensure that the InfoObject 0TCTLSTCHG is available as active.

Alternative B (modification using the ABAP Dictionary)

If you are carrying out a new installation and the system is not (or is not to be) set up as a BW system, a direct modification can correct the error. To do this, you must call transaction SE11. In the structure WRMA_S_RESULT_DATA for the component TCTLSTCHG, you must manually remove the corrupt component type /BI0/OITCTLSTCHG and replace it with an active component type of the data type NUMC and a length of 14. The component is a time stamp.

OBS: If it is a new system and you have problem calling RSA1 in other clients than 001 you need to execute RS_MANDT_UNIQUE_SET in SE37. Then you can call RSA1 from your productive client.
