DSWP Self Diagnosis - 500 connection timed out

Hi,

While trying to access Solution Manager to do a DSWP Self Diagnosis, I encountered the error :

"500 Connection Timed Out"

I got this error after I logged in to SolMan via the webpage.

Has anyone encountered this before? How was it resolved?

Hi Sisab,

it's a common problem with WebDynpro Application in SAP Solution Manager.

My answer was:

Just execute again the "Self Diagnosis" until you are able to see the expected screen. You might receive 3-5 time outs (or even more).

I found out that generating the Webdynpros using SGEN can help here to avoid those errors.

It would be nice if the WD-Framework could generate a message, that is compiling/generating in the background instead of just showing a blank empty white screen....

Hi Markus,

Thanks for your hint with SGEN. Currently it's not yet recommended in SolMan guides.

We will evaluate enhancements for SP18 to avoid Time Outs of WebDynpro Application due to compilation. Options:

- run SGEN (for WebDynpro Applications, ST 400, ....)

- Increase Time Out profile parameter

- Increased time out values of services

Enhancing the WD would be nice.

...especially if you write huge transaction that need a lot of buffers and taking time to load
