Anyone have any idea of Joins in importmanager?

Hi ,

Joins are use to link two or more files:

Suppose you have an Excel file having three sheets:

and you want to include data from all these three files so the use of join come into Picture which is based on one Common field which should be Available on all these three Sheets, on thte basis of this you will use Lookup, using which you bring all the required fields into one Common Sheet.

Hi Braddy,

MDM table joins are used when you want to join two tables with a common field.

The important thing here to note is that you can join data from two tables but they need ro be i the same source what I mean by this is.

I can join two table say table A with table B if they are two sheets in one excel file,where the same excel file is my source in MDM import manger.

When you join two tables you require a common field,the field name may not be same but the contents need to be same.

Hello Brad,

The Join option in Importmanager is used when we are importing qualified data which is in multiple sheets or data sources.Using Join we join all this data sheets and merge them virtually into one.

The steps while importing are :

1)Join main table data to all the qualifier sheets

2)Lookup qualified data into the main table data sheet

3)Proceed to mapping of source and destination fields and values

4)Perform matching and execute import.
