why cant we see the option of an IDOC adapter wile doing the adapter montoring using the Runtime Workbench ????

IDOc adapter doesnt recide in adapter engine, instead it is in Integration engine (an exception).

if that is the case then even http which directly interacts with the Integration engine is still displayed.... why is it so ?

Because IDOC Adapter resides directly on the ABAP Engine.
