availability check in sales order

is there a way or any setting for av.check in sales order in 6.0- material is created in 2 plants - plant 0001 and 0002.

stock is available in 0002.

sales order is entered in plant 0001, the system should tell that stock is avilable in 0002.

is this possible any help will be highly appreciated

If you have maintained your material in both the plants and you have created a sales order and entered plant 0001 where stock is not there . then system will do the availability check , at that point of time when you see the availability check screen , there you will be having an option of other plants , if you click there , you can see the 0002 plant and you can take the stock from that plant.

But it is not possible as per your requirement if in 0001 plant stock is not there then system should tell that stock is available in 0002 plant

You may need to go for enhancements

In your case, system will not automatically tell stock is available in plant 0002.

Explanation is as follows:

Basically, you do not enter plant information in sales order.

System automatically determines plant basing on following priorities

1. Customer material information master record

2. Customer master record

3. Material master record

(of course, you could change plant manually at time of creating sales order)

In your case, lets say system has determined plant 0001 during sales order creation.

If stock is available in this plant, system would automatically confirm stock from this plant.

In case there is no stock, then you would get a screen "standard order: Availability control"

In this screen, you have two options

- select the stock from existing plant and confirm delivery date determined by system

- click 'other plants' button and select plant 0002 to clear stock from this plant.

In case, system has confirmed stock from plant 0001 and you want to clear stock from plant 0002, click button 'check item availability' and you would get same screen as discussed above. Select 'other plants' button to select plant 0002.

For this to happen, you should assign plant 0002, in transaction OVX6, to your sales organization and DC.

If you ask the possibility of automatic availability check, no it is not possible. However, in sale order, two fields for maintaining plant is there. One is at header level and another one is at item level. If you change in either of this field manaully, availability check will happen for that plant.

HI,

The system is checking the delivery plant from material master data for sales area you have entered during sales order creating (SD: Sales org.1).

During availability control you can change plant by clicking on icon "other plants".

If performing the availability check manually then we can change the plants and check.
