There's a lot of information on
Your database is out of maintenance, you should consider upgrading to 9.2 or (better) 10g.

Hi,
You do realise that Oracle DBA is a full time job and that it takes years of experience to be proficient ?

In my understanding it doesn´t make sense to know "the commands" or "the transactions" or "the sql command" how to do to something. It´s more important to understand what´s going on behind the scene to really interpret and decide about a task and to know what to do in erroneous situations.
This is especially true for Oracle. An Oracle database is a really complex beast in itself, much more complex than a SAP system, hundreds of parameters, dozened features that are activated (or not) during installation etc. Before running an Oracle system in production it´s absolutely crucial to have a basic knowledge about what a database is and how it works conceptually. This will safe everyone (the company you work for, you and the people here and in the OSS) a lot of time and nerves.
http://technet.oracle.com has some really good DBA courses online that are free. I suggest everyone to go through them before even think about doubleclicking on a SAP-related icon or even worse - run a production system under Oracle without knowing what is actually happening on the system.
