Hi

Apart from changing device type, you need to check and change device ip address or hostname also, if it is a network printer.

Are you replacing the printer? adding a new printer to replace the old one?... this is not clear

2. In SPAD I changed the device type

If you are trying to rename the printer by coping it then theres no need to replace the device type... if youre installing a new printer then assign the correct device type.

3.both the printers are installed well and is in production

Good.... so?

My question is when I switch printers do I change only the Devic etype or any other steps too ?

Again... switch from what to what?
