Installation of PI_BASIS 2006_1_700

Dear All,

I have to install the PI_BASIS 2006_1_700 on SCM 5.0.

I have downloaded the files

KIPYM01.CAR

KIPYM02.CAR

KIPYM03.CAR

KIPYM04.SAR

KIPYM05.SAR

I have Uncared the files in /usr/sap/trans and the respective ATT and PAT files are copied to /usr/sap/trans/EPS/in

Now i log on to 000 client [user id other than SAP* and DDIC] and go to SAINT -> Load Packages From Application server

And i go back (F3), but i can not find the new "PI_BASIS 2006_1_700" in the list of Add-Ons

Previous Patch level = SAPKIPYJ7D PI_BASIS 2005_1_700: patch 0013

Pleae advice, am i missing something?

Hi

This behaviour is perfectly normal.

You have downloaded only the PI_BASIS support packages files and not the installation files !

You will use your files with SPAM to update your newly installed PI_BASIS.

Hello Oliver,

I can see the new support package for PI_BASIS 2006.1 from SPAM tcode.

I can not define the queue [calculate queue] from SPAM transaction, meaning i can not import the PI_BASIS 2006.1 files from SPAM tcode.

I have to do this from SAINT tcode.

After i UNCAR the files of PI_BASIS 2006.1 in /usr/sap/trans, i wil go to SAINT and LOAD it.

But in the list of new Add-On Installations in the SAINT screen, i can not see the new PI_BASIS 2006.1?

Please advice?

Hi,

You did not understand my answer.

You don't see the files in SAINT because you miss the installation files.

You have to download them first, install PI_BASIS from SAINT and finally patch PI_BASIS with SPAM with the files you already downloaded.

Agree with Olivier...

Basically You need to Upgrade PI_BASIS from 2005_1_700 to 2006_1_700 first. for this you need to download the installation files decompress the zip file and then upload the contents of the DELTA folder via SAINT.

Basically as you already have an old version of PI_BASIS what you're doing is called a Delta Upgrade. Once this is done then you can start patching with the SP you mentioned above via SPAM

As Olivier had referred earlier, i was missing on the Delta Upgrade SAR files, and now i have got it and was able to install the PI_BASIS 2006.1

Where will I get delta upgrade files for PI_BASIS, 2006_1_700 ? I mean how will I install this packages. I have searched but I found following files:

But My System is ECC 6.0 only ABAP Stack is there.
