Hi all, out problem looks the same. When we run sldcheck from XI system there is no problem with connection into SLD. But when we wanted to make connection from remote R/3 system we got the same error message as you have posted after SLDCHECK run:

Do you think that we may also leave host name without domain? We tried to follow instructions in sap help, everything works fine but when we tried to check JCo RFC Service error poped up: error while loading service JCo RFC provider.
Could you help us? THNX

hello ,
I discovered how to solve your problem. In transaction SLDAPICUST check in the field HOST NAME that the entry you have entered is the name EXACTLY as per Object server (in SLD -- ADMINISTRATION -- NAMESPACES look at bottom in the right ) . There is common opinion it should be an hostname as entry but in rare cases it could be not .
regards

Hi Marc,
just an addition:
I got the same error like the SLD could be reached but the "LCR_GET_BS_DETAILS" fails -> Return code 5.
After reading your post I checked sldapicust and the domain was already missing (xihost)!? So I put a domain to the hostname (xihost.company.de) -> Since then it is working fine...
Regards,
Klaus
