Does anyone have a good step by step setup for adding the java stack of thr portals to produce EW reports in Solution Manager

I have found that the PDFs under the operation section of service.sap.com/nw04 are very good. Did they not work for you?
Is there any document in particular ? I cannot seem to get the landscape set up in Solution Manager. Since this is the java stack, everything I look at seems to be jumping back and forth.
