Unable to delete newly CIFed resources

Dear All

We CIFed few workcenters which by mistake came as multimixed resources (instead of single mix). Now we are try to delete them using /SAPAPO/RES01 (change mode). As the first step, we have to remove them from active version first. When we try to remove them from active version and model i.e. 000, we get the message : u201CSystem error: Error occurred in the COM viewu201D Message no. /SAPAPO/DMRES051. (information message) and the resources are not deleted from the model.

We took the another path : Tried to delete them using supply chain engineer. In this case we get the message " Live cache error during check re dependent objects".

Since these are newly CIfed objects, we don't have any PPMs or any orders for them in APO. We are wondering:

1. What are re-dependent objects and how come system is checking for them?

2. Is there any way to delete these resources?

We don't face the same problem in QA system.

Hi

Select the resource in the change mode of resource master and click on Model assignment ICON and then choose delete from the model. Once this is done then you click on Delete button and save

Hope you will be able to delete

If not, go to /SAPAPO/OM16 and navigate the same for the resource, you will come to know any dependant objects are exists.

Hi :

You can also check for existing dependencies using the Where-Used List pushbutton in /n/sapapo/res01 transaction

& remove them before you delete the resources.

You can only delete resources that do not exist in any model and are no longer used in a production process model.

We don't have any PPMs or orders on these resources. Also this error is coming during their deletion from the model.

We tried OM16. there are no dependent objects of any type (last button - branch). Also when we compare OM16 output for QA (where we can delete them) and production (where we are not able to delete them), we don't find any difference (except the internal resource name etc).

In Fact we tried one exercise where we created a new resource (from a newly CIFed resource), assigned it to 000 and tried to deassign it (Without saving it yet), we got the same error. however if we repeat the same steps in QA, it get deassigned from model easily.

Hi Deepak

There must be inconsistency on the resources

Please execute /SAPAPO/OM17 for the resource selection only . If you get timed out error, please execute the same in the background by creating a job

Thanks for th suggestions. Howevr since we ar working in production server and we have to lock all the users for OM 17 run, we will be able to execute this only during the weekend. I will update you with the outcome on Monday.

Hi Vijay

The problem got solved. It was because of a version (part of active model"000") which was deleted earlied. Some how it was not deleted from the database. When we CIFed resources, they got attached to this version . Hence these resources couldn't be removed from model and hence couldn't be deleted.

I am facing the same problem wrt deleting resources that have been CIFed in APO. Can you explain in detail how you solved the problem?
