Hi,

1) i have uncared the sapmmc.sar from Kernal\NT\I386\MMC\sapmmc.sar file

2) i got about 7 files, in which there is one sapmmc file i have tried to double click it, n check but no go.

3) i also tried to run the Sapstartsrv.exe file and fill in up the values in pop up window. & filled up the following values :-

SID: DEV

NR: 00

StartProfile: (entire start profile path given)

user: devadm

passwd; (given)

- but it says "the account name is invalid or does not exist or the password is invalid for account name specified"/

- no go in both the cases.

Please need help very urgent.

Regards,

Satish.

Hi Satish,

Are you able to login using <SID>adm? in your case devadm, also check the permissions of devadm whether it have the admin rights or not.

If you were able to login using devadm user then error must not occur.

Check & confirm.

Rajesh

I would like to take one step back and start from the beginning.

- Is the whole tree missing or is it just the system DEV ?

- You mentioned double-clicking an sapmmc-file. was it sapmmc.msc ?

You should specify the user including the Domain name and also you need the SAPServiceSID instead.

you should enter user

<YOUR_WINDOWS_DOMAIN>\SAPServiceDEV

If the domain is not specified, the system is looking for a local user account.

Did you enter the Windows Domain Name in front of the user ?

It is not enough with just the user name (unless your SAP-installation have been done locally, without any domain-connection).

1)yes thomas, i even tried to put "SAPServiceDEV" with passwrd, and try to access, but it gives the same error message.

2) yes, after uncaring the sapmmc.sar file, i am getting 7 files in with i have sapmmc.msc file. So when i try to double click also no change.

3) the entire MMC tree got deleted, not just DEV.

Hi,

As I explained earlier please use ".\devadm" instead of <hostname>/devadm, Here "." is important. For example .\SAPServiceDEV or .\devadm. Note: use backward slash.

Hi,

Please check you given the right profile path "/usr/sap/SID/SYS/profile/START_DVEBMGS00_Hostname" .

Go to run services.msc and check is there any service like SAPSID_00. Start that service and check your MMC now. If you can't able to start that service, Paste the error.

i'm in the middle of the same problem. here's how i'm proceeding. to solve your problem you should make sure the user exists and the password is correct. login to the server using the SAPSeviceSID user name.

start the console

for user put \domain\SAPServiceSID

and the password

after that i was able to create the service, but now i'm stuck at not being able to start the service. i'm also seeing nothing in the MMC. Please help!
