I recently saw CRM 2007 for the first time. The UI is clearly not WebDynpro nor run-of-the-mill BSP. Does anyone have technical information on this new technology? Does this indicate a new direction for SAP in terms of UI?
As we invest more in WebDynpro ABAP we want to make sure that we know what is coming down the road -- CRM 2007's UI surprised us.
Web Dynpro remains SAP's primary UI design and runtime. The one exception to this rule is CRM. CRM has been given the governance approval to continue to use BSP. The technology in the latest version of CRM is BSP based, although it includes some concepts borrowed from Web Dynpro. The new look and feel does try to be consistent to match the new version of the Unified Renderer that will be used by Web Dynpro in the upcomming Enhancement Package 1. However there are still obvious differences in the CRM UI and of course the development tools used to build CRM applications.

Thanks much for the response; it's good to have reinforcement of the technology's direction.

Hi
SAP always followed a different technology as CRM applications are different from other web applications.
Started from BSP to PCUI and IC Web Client now Web UI.
