Hi all!

At present we are using WINDOWS OS.Now we are shifting to SUSI LINUX.What are the settings to be made in OS as well as in SAP.Our present version is SAPGUI 7.00 rev6.

Already we have installed 5 printers in SUSI LINUX OS.When we trying to pring SAP documents, we are getting error - like we are getting junk prints not the actual output.

How to add printers in Front end in SUSI LINUX for SAP?Please give step by step procedure. Thanks in advance.

Hi,

i assume following.

printer is installed on Windows Host.

you want to print from sap using java gui from suse linux.

first answered following query.

-> you are configure shared printer in LINUX , are you able to print normal document from Linux to that shared printer?

we are getting the normal prints properly but SAP prints we are getting the junk , we are not able to get the given prints as out put.

we have created spools and defined devise types alo.

didnt understand where we did a mistake.

Without knowing how you configured the printer in the system we can just guess what may be wrong.

- what are the settings in transaction SPAD for that printer?

- you print locally (SAPWIN)?

HI,

first check SAP Note 821519 - Front-end printing with control technology.

and define the printer in SPAD using folloiwng

Device attributes

Device Type : select you printer from device list.

check Note 8928 - List of supported printers/device types

if your device is not found then select SAPWIN SAPWIN / Rel 4.x SAPLPD

Access Method :

Host spool access method : G

Host Printer : __DEFAULT
