Hi ,

Any body can answer what is use of Production Versions in PP module.

Hi

Through production version u can select proper BOM & Routing.

EX. -

If one X1 material have 02 BOM & 02 Routings.

In that case u can make the production version like

1st BOM 1st Routing

1st BOM 2nd Routing

2nd BOM 1st Routing

2nd BOM 2nd Routing

Make these combination through material master MRP4 or Workscheduling view.

When u will create production order system will give the pop up & as per ur requiremenet select any one.

production version is a combination BOM & routing .if u have different boms with different combination of rroutings nothing but sequence of operations.at the time of production order ceration it will ask for by which production version used to manufacture the product. if u have mentioned in customizing opl8 that selection of production version manually.

Key which determines the various production techniques according to which a material can be manufactured.

The production version determines the following:

the BOM alternative for a BOM explosion

the task list type, the task list group and the task list group counter for allocation to task lists

lot-size restrictions for repetitive manufacturing

when you can manufacture a product with different BOMs or on alternate work centers you need production versions, also in some industries you have different production versions depending on lot size
