impact on table size for Extension fields

Hi all,

I wanted to know the impact of extending a standard table say. VBAP.

This extension is only for specific documents. scenario is explained below

lets say VBAP standard table has 200 fields

we have Z append fields - say 20 fields (each CHAR 40)

VBAP table has 20million records

only 1 million records will have values in these new Z-columns

my understanding is that only the table size will increase for these 1million rows.

please give your inputs and share your knowledge

Yes - you´re right. Where should the other 19 Mio entries come from?
