Hi MDM Experts,

Please shed some light on the following questions:

Is it possible to have two or more MDM Servers use the same database server ?

If so then what are the kind of conflicts expected ?

Yes, you can use the two and more MDM Servers for the Same DataBase Server

then Problem of Appropriate Repository come into Picture

Hi Uday,

It is possible to run different MDM servers on same database server.

If so then what are the kind of conflicts expected ?

But reposotires can be accessed by only one MDM server at a time.Once any MDM

server loads the respository,it wiil be locked by that server.Any another MDM server

cann't load the repository until the repository is unloaded by first MDM server.

Hi ,

I dont think its possible on same server as it will overwrite the older install.

However you may try MDM server on diff servers using same database.

Okay so your saying its not possible to have a scenario where in MDM is running on two different machines with both of them pointing to a single database server ?

Also could you elaborate what you meant by "try MDM server on diff servers using same database."

Hi Uday,

Nope, I meant its not possible to install 2 MDM Servers on same Server (machine).

However I guess we can install 2 MDM Servers on different Servers(machines) using same Database Server.

I not tried this however the Master Slave talks abt this direction I guess.
