Hi Dimitry,

Check on to this.

With the message server port you have to be particularly careful that the port number (e.g. 3600/tcp, see e.g. /etc/services) assigned to the port name (sapms (optional details, naming convention)

Hope this helps u,

Hi Dimitry,

have a look at your services file (<drive>\WINNT\system32\drivers\etc) and see if you have an entry for the message server port. It should look like the following:

sapmsJ2E 3601/tcp # SAP System Message Port

Add it if not present and then see if it removes the error.

Hello,

1) I've checked the services file in "<drive>\WINNT\system32\drivers\etc" and found there an entry with:

sapms<SID> 3600/tcp.

This problem appeared from nowhere, there were no settings changes or upgades.

2)The profile parameter isn't set in my system so I won't add it, it worked without.

Please advice what should I check more.

Dear Nagarajan,

-I forgot to tell that I'm using BW3.1 so the link is not relevant to me.

-There were no changes to the system.

-I prefer no to restart the system bacause it is a production server.

If there is something more that I can check ...

Please Advice,

Hello,

I hope this information will help someone:

After openning a "very high" message at service.sap.com, I got a solution (not a good one), to restart the instance.

After restarting BW the problem was gone. SAP said that the problem was when a WP tried to reach the services file.

I hope this info will help to another victim of this problem...

Best Regards,
