Windows platform stability

Hi Gurus,

My SAP system is running on Windows 2000 advance server.

It reboots by itself quite often but ad-hoc, eg. once a month on average. Either the Apps server crashed and rebooted by itself or the database central instance.

I never had such obvious problems on unix platform. Is this likely a windows platform related issue or could you suggest , based on experience, how is this form of crashing possible?

Is it true that heavy duty batch jobs such as monthend processing could possibly lead to such problem?

Could you hint about the logic behing why/how abap could

cause system to reboot itself and suddenly, i.e. windows O/S could not log a system trace in events log as to what happened, a.k.a event log: "...the last reboot was unexpected..."

Pls help me a little on how to save my server and many nights of firefighting. Many thanks.

sincerely,

Pascal Gabin
