Update Manager / plugins in NWDS

Former Member

Hello,

how can I import a plugin into NWDS ?

What is different from pure Eclipse 2.1.2 (the version used in NWDS):

- There is no Help/Software Updates/*

- Using File/Import/External Features runs without error, but the newly installed feature cannot be seen in Help/About/Feature Details.

- Using File/Import/External Plugins sees only plugins in a foreign directory, then runs, but does not seem to have any effect.

- There are several postings of people who tried installing the PDK plugin into NWDS, was anyone able to do it ?

- during installation of a plugin with an installation routine I got an error message saying "Update Manager missing"

It would like to be able to use 3rd party plugins in NWDS, even if they are not integrated, just having other perspectives and views, so - is this possible ?

any help (or guidance) appreciated

Walter

Hi,

plugins should work as usual. If they don't, don't try to run them.

On top of the eclipse environment there is an SAP framework that sometimes may collide with other plugins. If this happens there currently is no solution.

PDK is already implemented in a follow up release, which has no sneak preview yet.

Benny
