Yes you can do that,
Whenever there are any changes in the material component quantity in the BOM, you can run the MRP, Provided the PRs are not converted to POs.

What will happen if PRs had been changed to PO?
Do we perform MRP run for Project, not for WBSEs or activities?
Assume initally the requirement was 10 no. MRP was run, PO was created.
Scenario 1: BOM was modified to 8. MRP was Run, no change in PR and PO quantity. Still 10 Would be in the PO
Scenario2: BOM was modified to 12, PRs will be created for the additional 2 requirement.
