Deployment while the J2EE Engine not getting Connected

Hello Group,

Versions : EP6.0 SP14, WAS 6.4 AND NWDS 2.0.9

I'm new to WD and developed a Welcomecomponent

and deploying the component using J2EE Engine and given the settings as follows..

in NWDS -> WINDOWS-> PREFERENCES->SAP Engine Installed on Remote Host->

Message Server Host: sapep.xxxx.com

Message Server Port:52100

and applied all the changes at the time i got a error message "<b>Deployment Aborted</b>"

The Error Message as follows:

<b>Dec 8, 2005 12:08:49 PM /userOut/deploy (com.sap.ide.eclipse.sdm.threading.DeployThreadManager) [Thread[Deploy Thread,5,main]] ERROR:

[001]Deployment aborted

Deployment exception : Cannot determine sdm host (is empty). Please configure your engine/sdm correctly !</b>

I will apreciate how will let us give mea reply for this

Hi,

I tried with above answers i selected the J2EE tab and refreshed the Instance many times its giving

"Messgae server could not connect with in 60 sec and its not responding"

and i tried with IP instead of host name.., but no use

Whats the message Server Port you have used .

If you go to SAPMMC there you can see the messager server and port information.

Please do let me know.

And i made sapmsI21 3621/tcp entry in my host file also

and i started the SDM aslo and i refreshed J2EE Engine many times but it's still Depolyment Aborted.

hi sreedar

you may try this thing

go to windows->preferences->sapj2ee engine

check whether all details are entered properly.go to j2ee tab and check whether all lights are green.

Hi,

You can take the ear file and deploy it in SDM.. Its a option..

Have u tried giving the IP name and the port 3621.

Can u give us the url you use for portal...

I tried all the ways but i can see the following some cahnges under J2EE TAB

<b>REMOTE ENGINE

sapplm.xxx.com:6321

Monitor xxx-3BUAUZ2</b>

<b>Here xxx-3BUAUZ2 my computer name</b>

But Deployment fails.., before deployment i tried Run the project only but its giving "<b>Your J@EE engine and server port not configured correctly</b>"

the port Number 6321 i had given like that but

the port number i'm using 3621 typing mistake

Execllent Answer , now i'm able to see all the green cloured like dispatcher,SDM,server0

its asking me a SDM password when i'm trying to deploy the application.

Hey, the link you supplied to the previous user is no longer working but i'm having the exact same problem i beleive. the sdm host is empty error is coming up but everything seems to be in order.

Try giving the ip address instead of the server name.

hi sreedhar,

select ur j2ee engine tab,right click the SDM -->diable process then refresh it so that it

turns red in color,after a while right click and give enable process and refresh it will turn green.

Now try restartin it this should work.
