Hi Gurus,
I am facing a problem here, I am trying to make a RFC connection by SM59 in NW 7 to IDES 4.6b. But
I am not able to make it. Its connection test is working but Remote login is not.
The settings are given below:-
RFC destination name - C11 (its the name of IDES sap system name)
Connection Type - 3 (Connection to ABAP System)
Target host - SAP (Name of Ides machine)
In "Logon & Security" Tab I have given user name and password with client and language detail.

Hi,
If no screen comes up then it not an issues at all.
Its not allowing to login to target IDES system as the user type is "system" there.
So if you want the remote login to work then you need to change the user type as Dialog or service in target IDES system.
But your RFC is file.
If you wanna test the Authorization with remote login, in the RFC connection goto Utilities->test->authorization test.
Thanks

Hi,
What is the next screen that comes up when you click on remote logon.
If no screen comes up then:
Check the user type of the user id used for this RFC.
It should be either dialog or service user for able to remote login.
If it open a new window and asks for password, then its excatly password issue.
Also make sure that the password is in numeric and correct.
Also make sure that the current user check box is unchecked.
Even if it dosent work, delete the connection and create again.
Please award points if helps.
Thanks
Santhosh

In SM59 -> In "Logon & Security" Tab
Trusted System select "No"
I thing you are using normal RFC connection.
In Target Host provide IP address of the system instead of name.
