HI,
could you please explain about how to configure MDM for SSO in EP or give links for documentation about the same.
Hi,
you should be aware that the concepts of user managment in MDM 3.0 and MDM 5.5 are quite different. So it is important to mention the MDM version you are referring to.
With MDM 5.5 using the EP Business Package for MDM, all you need to do is to configure user mappings to map between portal user ids and MDM user ids. This can be done either by the users themselves on a user by user basis via the "Personalize" link in the portal. The other possibility is to make an administrative user mapping by the portal admin, which especially makes sense if you want to map whole groups of portal users to one single MDM 5.5. user.
For further details, please see the guide "Business Package
for MDM 5.5 SP3" which is available via http://service.sap.com/instguides
Kind regards
Andreas

Hi,
how to map a EP user to MDM user. No other configuration is needed for achieving SSO.

Hello:
User mapping is a step on the MDM System setting Wizard. For example, you have an EP user:
User: alejandro
pass: 123456
you can map it into an MDM user:
User: admin
pass: admin
For instance. Since the mapping is now "embedded" the EP user alejandro can use his SSO credentials to access all MDM data, as if he was the MDM user admin.

Hi,
If EP and MDM have different UME's.
Steps:
1. Once the sda's (I mean the business package files) are deployed in the Portal. You create a new System by selecting the MDM Server from the available System templates. Make sure you create an alias for the newly created MDM System.
2. Make sure the new System "user mapping" properties are set to admin, user.
3. Go to the user management tab in EP and search for the portal user, whom u want to map to MDM system.
4. click the edit link in the user grid, then select the MDM system name from the list box and give the MDM user name and password.
In this case you will be creating the users in both EP and MDM.
Same UME for MDM and EP
We can use central UME for both EP and MDM. As of now MDM supports LDAP. So we can the user in LDAP server and configure EP and MDM UME's to LDAP.

Hello:
You can do that by deploying the current sda's bundled with MDM. You could use SDM to do that. Now, once you've got the sda's correctly deployed, set up a new system (logged in as administrator).
Setting up an MDM System includes the server, port, and user mapping, that is, map any EP user to any MDM user, including their passwords.
Once the users are mapped, all authorized users will have access using SSO as any normal login with EP.
You could find documentation about it using the Bussiness Package for MDM manual.
I hope that helps
Regards
Alejandro
