Hi,
I am using MDM 5.5 SP06.
I incorporated syndication step in my Workflow. while processing the syndication step in workflow, its taking toomuch of time for processing. The next step is grayed out.
How to overcome from this issue.
while syndicating the 1 record from syndicator(manually) hardly tooks 1 minute.
while syndicating the 1 record in workflow taking toomuch( 30 minutes) of time.
Could you please suggest me any settings if I am missing. I want to process syndication step in workflow with less time.
Thank you,
Kiran.G
Hi,
Really speaking
Make your process manual and make your record Check in at the time of export.
Check the MDSS.ini setting and the time set for syndication in this.
Hope it helps.

Hi Deepak,
no luck with that either.
Here is the the workflow log:

4764 2008/08/18 11:38:36.890 Syndication manager has successfully connected to a port.
4764 2008/08/18 11:38:36.890 Syndication manager has executed syndication query. 0/0 records found
4764 2008/08/18 11:38:37.171 Syndication manager has exported the data to a temp location.
4764 2008/08/18 11:38:37.171 Temp files gathered in memory before sending over to MDM Server.
4764 2008/08/18 11:38:37.187 Syndication manager has sent the exported data to permanent location at MDM Server.

4764 2008/08/18 11:38:37.187 Export succeeded.
This workflow actually contains one record. Nothing is being syndicated and the step gets stuck.
This is the log from an older version of the repository (no workflow changes) with the same record:

Here I can send the workflow to the next step.
It looks like MDSS cannot find the records for whatever reason.

Solved: In the syndication map a filter was set. All records that did not fit into the filter preset, were simply not syndicated. Thanks to everyone for support.

Hi Kiran,
I am not sure of this but are your records checked out till the syndicate step?
This could be one of the reasons for delayed syndication.
Ty keeping the records as checked in and then compare if there is any improvement in the syndication time.
Actually the syndication time needed to syndicate the record on reaching the step in the workflow is dependent only on the delay time as set in the mdss.ini file.
if its 10 sec it should take 10 sec and if its set to 30 min it will take dat much.
Hope It Helped,
Thanks & Regards

Hi Simona,
thanks for your answer.
the records are checked out indeed. However, I have on my laptop two repositories with "equal" workflows running. They share the same MDSS. Mapping and settings are equal. The one is syndicating, the other is not (same record). Really weird. I am currently comparing the workflows on database level, going through each setting with MS Access.

Hi Kiran,
Syndicate step in workflow Marks the records for syndication but not actually syndicates it. Its the Syndication Server only that syndicates the actual records. Check the Auto Syndication Task Delay property in the MDSS.ini file and set it to 5 or 10 secs.
But after 30 minutes are your records get syndicated?

Hi Kiran and all others,
I have the same problem here now. Funny thing is that everything worked during tests and demonstration. I get stuck in the Syndicate step of the workflow, no syndication is executed and Next Step is grayed out. I can click to perform the syndication step, but without effect.
I thought it would have to do with the "Suppress unchanged records" option in Syndicator, but that also has no effect.
Any ideas? Kiran, did you solve it in the meantime?
I'm on MDM 5.5.62.53.
