why SAP script is client dependent ?
Hi,
SAP Script cannot be executed independently. It is executed using driver program. All the driver programs are stored in TNAPR table. TNAPR table contains MANDT field. Therefore SAP Scripts are client dependent.

Hi,
By design, SAP script is a word processing tool which displays data on the form with the help of text elements where the logic of those is written in the print program and Forms were designed to be driven from print program, hence are often termed as client dependent. Smart forms are client independent. Bcoz it doesnu2019t use any text elements. It will be executed through a function module. When a print program calls a Smart Form, the form itself takes over to produce output, without any further direction from print program.

hi.
It is as simple.
A script Form is developed for the client and according to client needs. And requirements of no two clients are same.
They are different in different industries. So the Script From is client dependant.
On the other hand a print program can call any from so it is client independant.
Hope this will help.

Scripts that are developed in SAP will be maintained in a table which has MANDT field. So, we can say client dependent.

hi
yes sap scripts are client dependent and smartforms are client independent. if u create script in development u cant access same script in testing server again u have to to trasport it to testing. thats way sap scripts are client dependent. but in smartforms u can access from any client once u create a smartform in development.

hi,
Smartforms generate a Function module during execution . Since Function module is client independent
smartforms are client independent.
SAP scripts donot generate any Function module during execution. So they are client dependent.

hi.
Talking in terms of business... script is legal document designed for a particular client and the legal documents of two different business entities definitely vary for obvious reasons...
If we talk about technical terms... scripts use text elements which are client dependent... hence scripts are also termed as client dependent

Hi Vishnu,
If you create on script in one client , that will not be visible to other client. For that purpose you need to transport .eg from development client to testing client . So it can be available in testing client.
