Hi rajanws,

Being a environment variable you should be able to insert it either in /etc/profile for system wide or probably the best place would be in your .sapenv_<hostname>.csh(use setenv here) file and your .sapenv_<hostname>.sh(use export here) file. The .sapenv files are located in your <SID>adm home directory.

Hi Raja,

Please mention on which SAP Application are you getting this error and for what actions.

But it you want to set this permanentely as an Environment variable on your OS, if you have UNIX host you can update this paramater in <sid>adm home directory in the following files starting with .sapenv_<hostname>.sh and .csh and if want to set in DB environment choose .dbenv_xx.xx

But I have not seen such parameter as a Environment variable in these files.

However if you need more gateway connections and environment variable CPIC_MAX_CONV is causing the problem proceed as follows:

1. Log on to your SAP system as a user with suffiecient authorization and run transaction RZ10

2. Set the value gw/max_conn_per_wp to a higher value (e.g 500) and restart the SAP system.
