APO performance after replacing the application servers

Hi,

We recently replaced all the APO production application servers(windows

2000) with new servers that aree windows 2003,The new servers are

having higher configuration compared to the old servers. There was no

change to the CI/DB server and they still run on OS400/DB400.After this

application server change we are observing the following issues :

1. The overall dialog performance in the application servers have come down drastically.Especially high db request time.

2. The CIF queue transfers from R/3 to APO have slowed considerably which are happening through the application servers.

I initially found the RZ12 was not having the new application servers in the server group and later included them. This improved the CIF transfers but still not to the normal performance levels. I also observed majority of the dialog processes doing sequential read in theapp servers. We would like to know if there are any specific steps tobe performed at the DB level after this hardware changes. Please

clarify.

Thanks,

Mahesh

Hi Mahesh,

I guess, you moved from Win32 2000 to Win64 2003 ...

=> You need a new version of QXDAEDRS.dll - this is THE magic point of DB times !

If you still would use Win32, I would use the old QXDAEDRS.dll and I'm pretty sure, that you are "back to normal" - NOT better.

If you are using Win64: Did you really patch QXDAEDRS.dll to the latest level vie the web ? It is NOT sufficient, to just install Client Access ...

If yes, you should open an OSS ticket with BC-DB-DB4 ...
