Default storage location in sales order

Hi,

Pls. guide.

Where to maintain settings if we want to make storage location appear by default at the time of creating the sales order.

Points will surely be rewarded.

Hi,

This functionality is not avilable in the standard SAP. If you want the system to check the stock at a specific storage location, the storage location has to be entered manually at item level or you have to go for development so that it will be defaulted under the specific conditions specified.You have to create a Z-table and maintain the table with data under which that specific storage location has to be determined.

A userexit has to be used so that it will default the appropriate storage location after checking the table.

You can use userexit_save_document

Go to Material Master, select MRP2 view and maintain the default storage location which you want to flow into sale order, in the field "Prod.stor.location".

FYI:

Your suggestion of storage location from MRP2 field "Prod.stor.location" to sales order (as default Stor. loc) is not happening.

I have tested it. Please test it and comment.

What I can understand is Production storage location is different from Storage location in a sales order.

In the case of a material produced in-house, this is the key of the storage location that is copied to the planned order, production order, or run schedule quantity.

Here there is no mention of sales order.

USEREXIT_SOURCE_DETERMINATION (MV45AFZB) should be used to implement your own custom logic; See SAP note 387482 & SAP article 1649672.

if sales order level by default require then u hv to use user EXIT

System does not determine storage location at sales order level. User has to indicate it at time of creating sales order. The storage location entered in the order item is copied into the outbound delivery

If no storage location for picking is specified in the order item, the system determines the storage location when it creates the outbound delivery and copies it into the delivery item. The system determines the picking location based on a MALA, RETA, MARA rule defined in the delivery type.

storage location is not determined in sales order it has to be manually entered.....still if u wan to do it u need to use userexits

Here you have to assign the MALA rule to your delivery type

Also check in OVL3.

MALA rule is already applied to delivery type.

There exist the settings for OVL3,but still it is not reflected in sales order.

What could be the possible alternative ?
