Lisense renewal problem

When running sapinstall.exe on an Windows XP machine I get this error:

• SAPLICENSE (Release 640) ERROR ***

ERROR: Can not set DbSl trace function

DETAILS: DbSlControl(DBSL_CMD_IMP_FUNS_SET) failed with return code 20

RC-INFO: error loading dynamic db-library - check environment for:

dbms_type = <db-type> (e.g. ora)

DIR_LIBRARY = <path to db-dll> (e.g. /usr/sap/SID/SYS/exe/run)

What's missing?

this error happens if you are not logged in to the system as nspadm.

log on to windows XP as user nspadm and then run saplicense.exe -install

I encounter the same problem. Then, login SAP* (password:pass) in sapgui and invoke SLICENSE to install the new license.

It works now

Do you set up this ?

set dbms_type=mss

set DIR_LIBRARY=.

set MSSQL_DBNAME=MBS

I have not been able to install the license this way. I used the transaction code SLICENSE to install my license.

SLICENSE is not available to me as the old license expired and I cannot log in through GUI any more.

Generally SAP* can logon even when the license has expired.
