Hi Experts,

I have configured the UWL for MDM I am able to see the task in the UWL iView but the UWL is working only for one user other users cannot perform the Next Step because Next Step iView is not visible when any user clicks on Next Step button.

Do I have to make any configurations

Your help will be highly appreciated in this regard

Thanks,

Jitesh,

When you create the final process for GP to get items in UWL, you assign GP roles (and view specific access) to various users. Just check whether the 2nd view has the right access..

Jitesh,

Do the users have end user permission to the Next Step iView? If you go to System Administration | Permissions | Portal Content | Content Provided by SAP | specialist | MDM Application | iViews | Workflow Next Step, do your users have permissions to these iViews?

Hi Jitesh,

I am also facing the same problem.

The 1st user is able to see the "Next Step" iview properly, but the 2nd user when clicks the "Next Step" button the iview is opening but the Next Step-->Stop option is not coming, its just showing the iview with the following message:

Operations for Execution of Workflow Job

Job ID '10018' step ID '3' subject 'CMDM_Workflow Approve'

with a "Close" button.

The workflow should get completed with this step in my scenario, but it is not happening because there is no Stop option present.

I ahve checked the end user permissions also foe the iview, that is also set properly.

Did u get any solution for this problem...if so please help me out also as we are stuck due to this.

Thanks,

Becky.

Hi,

I tried giving permissions to the users but no success.

Only the list of actions are displayed but none is active.

Jitesh,

What permissions you gave to the user??

U said that u are getting the options but they are greyed out..

i am not even getting the options for the second user.

Can u tell me what are the permissions that u have set for the user??

Becky.

In response to Simona, I have posted an OSS Message. I received a preliminary reply that referred me to note [1111304|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1111304]. However, I had some follow-up questions and haven't yet received a reply to those.

The problems that others on this thread have been having are exactly what we are having as well. We are on MDM 5.5, SP6, Patch 2, Hotfix 4.

Please check this note and see if it applies to your situation.

Hi,

Thanks for this nice effort.

I have already seen this note before but the question is if there are some configuration issues then it should not work at all but in my scenario it is working fine for one user atleast though i have not assigned any permissions or done any extra settings for this user but still it is working.

Lets wait for the reply from SAP only. Since everyone is facing the same issue.

Hi Jitesh

we also faced same problem but now it has been resolved.check for other users(their roles) if they have authorisation for content Admin and User Admin in Portal. If they donot have this, it will not work.

reward if useful

thanks

Ravi,

Thank you for the information. However, I tested this and it doesn't resolve the problem in our case. The History and Next Step buttons still launch screens with only header info and close buttons.

In addition, this approach completely undermines the portal security model: I don't want my functional users to have admin rights; I just want them to be able to manage their MDM workflow tasks from within the UWL.

I am still waiting to hear back from SAP on this and will update this thread when I have their solution.

Jitesh,

Thank you for reminding me. I haven't heard back from SAP yet and I just send a request for update in my OSS message.

Jitesh,

I would like to confirm: when you are getting the UWL iView with only a header and a close button, what is the error you are receiving in the portal logs? The one I am receiving is "Can not find session for release." It's almost as if, when you first log on, the iViews work, but when you continue to invoke them, the session becomes corrupted and the iViews malfunction.

Is this what others are experiencing?

By the way, I am still awaiting SAP's response to my OSS message.

Hi Doug,

Even we are having the same issue with Next Step.We are on SP6 5.5.62.50.In error log,it shows message as "cannot find session for release".

Update: We expect this issue to be resolved in an upcoming hotfix for SP06 Patch 2.

Hi Doug,

Thanx a lot. I am closing the Thread so that who ever working on UWL and are facing the similar issues should come to know that there is a problem with the Patch.

Hi Jitesh/becky,

Can ur'll both mention which SAP MDM versions with patch each of urll are using?

As i have read earlier that there are some problems with SP06 patch2 vs of MDM when using UWL.

If you both are using the same vr then could be that this is an MDM bug else some configurations are missing.

Thanks & Regards

Hi Simona/Jitesh,

Presently i am using MDM 5.5 SP06 Patch 2.

Is it a problem with this version of MDM server??

Thanks,

Becky.

Hi,

I am using MDM 5.5 SP6 P2 {5.5.62.50}. But i faced the same issue with MDM 5.5 SP6 P1 also. MDM 5.5 SP5 was working fine.

Hi Jitesh/Becky,

This clearly looks like a problem with MDM 5.5 SP06 vs.

Why does'nt someone raise an OSS note on this to SAP.

Or else atleast confirm that this problem will be fixed with the newer vs SAP MDM 7.1

Regards

Simona
