Hi
The distribution of data between systems makes it necessary to identify each system as a unique logical system.
A logical system is an application system in which the applications are coordinated to work in one common database. In SAP terms, a logical system corresponds to a client.
The logical system is important in the following SAP areas:
o Communication between two or more logical systems
ALE business process (e.g. Cost Center Accounting): defines the system in which a particular application is running. Only in this system can master data can be changed.
Business Object Repository: The name of the logical system in which an object is located is always contained in the key of that Workflow object

Hi Venkat,
Logical system is the name given to the physical system i.e technical system, Some times we can easily say in terms of SAP as an indivdual client.
every individual client in SAP can be called as an Logical system..
logical systems can be created using tcode scc4..
Business systems, which name the logical receiver independently of technical properties. For example, a business system might be a client of an SAP system

HI
Technical System and Business system
In the Systems Catalog we define each Technical system in the landscape. The technical System correlates the software to the physical host on which it is installed. The exact settings for each system depend on the system type.
Technical systems are the basis for defining Business Systems. The association between the Technical System and Business System is dependent on the TS type; for instance, in a system based on Web AS (ABAP), each client in the system is a separate Business System.
To create a Technical System definition there is a wizard interface in the SLD.
For defining Business Systems, the four important pieces of data are:
u2022Business System Name (must be unique in the landscape)
u2022Associated Technical system name, and if the Business System will be used with IDoc interfaces, a Logical System Name
u2022The Software Products (and associated SWCVu2019s) that are used by the Business System. The products are brought through from the Technical System definition; but for a particular Technical System, not all products will necessarily be associated with a particular Business System.
u2022The Related Integration Server.
All of these settings can be defined in the Business System Wizard.
Technical System: TS is a conceptual representation of a physical system, such as physical sap server with a number of software components installed.
Business System: BS is a conceptual representation of a logical system, such as a specific client on a SAP server or a 3rd party payroll application.
Business sytem is the Logical System and technical System is the Physical System.

Hi,
Logical system says where the data has to go,to which client...in any SAP system we can have any number of clients so we want to send to perticular client....this is the reason to define the logical system name.
