i had an error shootup message at PHASE 94/99 when i was installing SAP Netweaver 2004s SR1 usages types AS ABAP,AS JAVA, BI JAVA,DI,EP,MI and PI
the error message looks like this ..i believe there is problem with JAVA..?

Hi Tony !
The exchange-profile is a tool in j2ee which holds pi-configuration.
Could you please post java.log and test if you see something when entering http://yourmachine:50100/exchangeProfile (note the capital P).
It will give you a link to the exchange-profile application in j2ee (if j2ee is really up).
In the meantime a good solution simply might be to restart j2ee and wait until it has started up completely (takes 15 minutes)
Then re-try in sapinst.

how do i start j2ee engine by startting sap and stopping it agian... i mean the installation is not completed.. thne how?

Dear Tony,
you can use the
jcmontool to start and stop the J2EE cluster/instance from command line. Simply call:
/usr/sap/<SID>/<Instance>/j2ee/os_libs/jcmon pf=<full_path_to_profile>You then enter the jcmon from where you can administer your cluster/instance. Choosing 20 (Local Administration) -> 15 (Increment Trace Level) you may get more information why the instance does not start.

Should we use the jcmon command under root or sap system administrator.. Installation has not been completed yet... still stuck in phase 94/99.. what do you fill over here " <full_path_to_profile> ".. in the solution you provided.. if possible Mr i would like it more detailed Mr Hannes

If your J2EE engine is definitely not up, please logon as <SID>adm and do a stopsap & startsap.
Does the link then work ?

i tried entering http://PDS06:50100/exchangeProfile. but nothing happened... how do you restart j2ee? i mean isnt it already runing? i hope the error is not all that too complicated??!!!!! to restart all the 99 phases again for a new installation
