The bitness is not distinguishable by the compiler used - not in this case.
VS 12.00 is Visual Studio .NET 2003 which is plain 32bit. With an additional SDK that is "plugged in" the target is changed but the compiler itself stays the same.
The question is: What do you NEED? Do you have a 64bit OS? If yes, then use the 64bit installation DVDs and kernels.

Hi Deve,
This should give you clear idea - if your OS is 32 bits or 64 bits :
On Win2K3 : Start > Run > type sysdm.cpl > OK > General Tab
- If 64bit OS, you would see : Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Enterprise x64 Edition appears under
System
- If 32 bit OS, you would see : Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition
Alternatively :
Start > Run > winmsd.exe > OK
- In the details pane, locate the Processor under Item ..note the value : If the value that corresponds to
Processor starts with x86, the computer is running 32 bit version of the OS
or if the value that corresponds to Processor starts with EM64T or IA64, the computer is running
64 bit version of the OS
Hope this helps,
Pl. Reward apporpriate points if useful.
Thanks,
Regards,
- Ishan
Operating system:
start a command box.
enter
set process
and listen to the entries of PROCESSOR_ARCHITECTURE.
SAP System:
find executable dispwork.exe in the explorer and have a look at the version properties (right click on dispwork.exe, Properties, Version...)

The OS installation CDs/DVDs are different.
On a 64bit Windows you have e. g. 2 icons for Internet Explorer - one for a 32bit and one for a 64bit IE.
