cProjects: Cost/revenue rate RATE is not valid in organization 00000000

Former Member

Hi Experts!

In cProjects 4.0 I am working with manual MLC integration. Whenever we try to calculate the costing of the project, with BP staffed on the roles we get the warning:

Cost/revenue rate RATE is not valid in organization 00000000

...and the costing is not performed.

Any idea of what can be causing this behaviour?

Thanks in advance

Neil

Hi Neil,

I have just created a note 1173077 to solve the problem, the error messae is exact the same. Woud you please apply the attached correction report of the note in your ERP system and run it. The english translation is not done yet, but it does not matter.

Kind regards,

Hi

What you can do is create an Org unit using PPOCE

This unit is created in cProjects system and for the project this is assigned in Addiotional data...

Also,

You need to maintain cost revenue rates for this org unitas Sunil has explained above.

Using BP as Resource with cost revenue rates is another option...

however these rates ll be picked if the resource uis attached under Role defined for your project.

Niranjan

Let me know if it helps...

Hi all,

I have the org. unit created, so I created a position and the BP assigned to it. The message is no longer coming out, but now I get a warning asking for the cost of the resource

No costing data exist

since I didn't enter any cost in the resource view for the BP.

Does not make sense, since I am working with a task based scenario, where the BP cost should be ignored...

From help.sap.com

Costs for task

4. Different costs which you entered for the task

5. Costs per activity unit for the task in Customizing

Revenues for task

6. Different revenue which you entered for the task

7. Costs per activity unit for the task in Customizing

Costs for roles

8. Different costs which you entered for the project role

9. Costs per activity unit for the role in Customizing

10. Plan price for the role in cost center accounting

11. Different costs which you entered for the task

12. Costs per activity unit for the task in Customizing

Revenues for Roles

13. Different revenue which you entered for the project role

14. Costs per activity unit for the role in Customizing

15. Different revenue which you entered for the task

16. Costs per activity unit for the task in Customizing

Michael, BPs are created in the PPM machine.

Any other suggestions?

Thanks!

Hi,

which strategy you have used in Project Type?

Once you change the Status of project, your PS or Internal order ll be generated and costing will be updated thus you ll get costing data.

confirm at what staus you are now..

Hi Niranjan,

I have manual MLC with PS, so nothing automatically created. The strategy is task based, so the BP should not affect the costing at all, isn't it?

The status of the project is currently Released (Transfer-Assigned)

Thanks

Neil

Hi all,

Sorry for the misunderstanding, I know what the No costing data message refers to. It was just that the elements where unassigned when I modified the BP in the role.

We are still getting the Cost/revenue rate RATE is not valid in organization 00000000 even with the position created and the BP assigned to it.

And still I don't understand why BP is taken into account for costing in the task based scenario...

Thanks to all!

Kind regards

Neil

Hi Neil,

Can you paste the exact error message you are getting.. In each task - > additional data did you select the role for the costing or not. The roles you selected are maintained in the org structure in configuration or not.

I think wee may need to see the flow of costing logic as well which may cause this problem.

Hi

Did you try using New project after creating Org Unit...

Tell me what setting you have done..

I hope you have replicated cost revenue rates to ECC...

how is your system architecture?

Are you on CPR 4.0?

Hi Neil,

You have to maintiain the Cost/revenue rate in IMG your Oragnasation.

IMG ( SPRO) --> Collabration Project

--->Connection to External System

-->Account intrgration

--->Define cost/reveune rates

in that

1. On the Change View u201CCost/Revenue Ratesu201D: Overview screen, choose New Entries, provide key and description of new rate and choose Enter.

2 Mark new entry and choose Validity/Details from tree structure on the left side of screen.

3 Choose New Entries and provide remaining data.

Rate Key Description

L1 Junior Consultant

L2 Senior Consultant

Rate Orga. Start date End date Cost per Unit Revenue per Unit Currency Unit

L1 00000000 01/01/2007 12/31/9999 70.00 100.00 USD H

L1 00000000 01/01/2007 12/31/9999 70.00 100.00 USD H

L1 00000000 01/01/2007 12/31/9999 70.00 100.00 USD H

L2 00000000 01/01/2007 12/31/9999 80.00 150.00 USD H

L2 00000000 01/01/2007 12/31/9999 80.00 150.00 USD H

L2 00000000 01/01/2007 12/31/9999 80.00 150.00 USD H

like wise you have to define cost revenue rate for you organisation.

thanks

Hi,

Thanks for your fast answer, but I am afraid that specific customizing is done. We had mantained the org. unit at project definition level, and the rate RATE is maintained in the customizing and replicated to the R/3 system.

In addition, this behaviour only happens when BP are assigned to roles (performing the cost under unstaffed roles doesn't turn out into this problem)

Best regards,

Hi Neil,

Please maintain the cost/revenue rates of the Business Partner in role 'Resource' in transaction BP. Also make sure that this BP is mainatained in the Org Structure.

Hi Neil,

I am very interested in this topic as well.

Do you distribute the business partners from HCM system or do you create them directly in the CPRRPM environment?

Thanks and regards

Hi Neil,

Go to Project Definition -> Additional Data and assign the org str assignment for the project in cProjects UI. Prior to that you need to maintain the Org Structure and Role Type with cost/revenue rates mapping in Configuration.

The steps you need to perform these activities in the cProjects configuration under this node

SPRO - > Collaboration Projects -> Connection to External Systems -> Accouting Integration. Here you need to perform all the accounting related activities including the cost/revenue rate assignment.

If you need more help let me know.

rajesh.
