Dear Experts,
WE are running on ECC 6.0 on Windows MSSQL 2005 platform kernel level 146.
Since yesterday we are not able to see any value in ST06 transaction code.( shwoing 0 value )
We have not done any changes in system and SAPOSCOL is running fine.
What could be the reason for the same. I have also rebooted system twice but didnt helped.
Best Regards,
AjitR

Yes exactly , i am using non unicode installation for ABAP + JAVA system.
Actually this weekend we performed activity of Java Add IN for existing Non - Unicode ABAP system but after that , st06 was running fine.
Right now , I am getting 0 value everywhere in ST06
and ST06n as well .... I think you are pointing to some wrong settings arent you ....Please let me know what Non - Unicode system has to do with this problem... Points rewarded.
Hi,
Generally SAP recommended to use unicode ABAP + JAVA. System,
you can use non unicode system
but when you install java instance it's required unicode kernel.
check the windows service for saposcol
-> under which user it's running
-> check the path for executable of saposcol
also check table entries for OSMON using tcode SE16

kaushal

Kaushal,
Could you recommend any SAP note which talks about replacing SAP Unicode kernel for NON-Unicode system after Java-ADD IN installation.
About SAPOSCOL service ...its running under user SAPSERVICESID and path for executable is
K:\usr\sap\DEV\SYS\exe\run
Ideally for any Unicode ABAP+java installation it should be
K:\usr\sap\DEV\SCS01\exe
I tried to change the path in services through REGEDIT but still results are same as before
Hi,
Could you recommend any SAP note which talks about replacing SAP Unicode kernel for NON-Unicode system after Java-ADD IN installation
-> not possible to change kernel only, required Unicode conversion
check service.sap.com/unicode
Ideally for any Unicode ABAP+java installation it should be
K:\usr\sap\DEV\SCS01\exe
yes you are right for ABAP+JAVA system path should be \usr\sap\SID\SCS<Instance_nr>\exe\saposcol.exe
I tried to change the path in services through REGEDIT but still results are same as before
-> change through regedit not affected untill you reboot the server.
instead of that try to register saposcol service under windows service again.
do following steps.
first stop saposcol from windows services.
now open command prompt.
now change to your kernel directory.
execute following command.
ntscmgr remove SAPOsCol
now install service with following command
ntscmgr.exe install SAPOsCol -b <path_to_saposcol>\saposcol.exe -p service
where path_to_saposcol = <drive:\>\usr\sap\SID\SCS<inst_nr>\exe

kaushal
kaushal,
Thanks for comments .... But when i stopped SAPOSCOL service & made changes to REGEDIT ....when i double click on SAPOSCOL service in services.msc .... i got new path which i put in Regedit as below
K:\usr\sap\DEV\SCS01\exe
and i am able to successfully start the service also.
If this is not right method ... then method mentioned by you could be able to do any difference or not .... because my kernel is still NON _ unicode ... and my database is also NON - Unicode ....then the procedure mentioned by you about register saposcol service ....
how its going to make difference....Appreciate if you could specify any critical Impact of this procedure also...
Thanks once again for your patience...
Hi,
If saposcol path indicate to K:\usr\sap\DEV\SCS01\exe then it's ok no need to install service again with ntscmgr.
try to change user assigned to service from SAPServiceSID to sidadm just for luck !!!
can you provide entries of table OSMON .
also check following
sapnote : 688131
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/c4/3a6c9b505211d189550000e829fbbd/content.htm
also try following
first stop saposcol change the user to sidadm
now delete following files,
dev_coll, dev_coll.tmp and coll.put from usr\sap\prfclog
now start saposcol service.
regards,
kaushal
