Redundant objects

Hi All,

I have a data type DT1 in one Software component SW1 under one name space NS1. Now I am creating a data type DT2 in another Software component SW2 under another name space NS2.

Because both the structures for DT1 and DT2 are same, I am just creating DT2 in SW2 under NS2 by saying 'copy object' from DT1 in SW1 under NS1.

In furture will there be any problem for DT1 of SW1 or SW1 itself if we make any changes for DT2 of SW2 like while importing from one server to another server?

Anybody please help me.

Regards,

Anita.

Since both are in different SWCV so there will be no problem.

No. Copying of data types will create no problems in the future. The copied new object is exactly similar to a nemly created data type. Even if the old DT is deleted it will have no impact on this DT. You need to be careful when copying Message types and other stuff coz. the name space will still point to the older DT.
