APO Certification

Hi Guys,

I'm planning to give my APO certification next month. Just wanted to get some info on the exam

1. What would be the best way to prepare?

2. Are there any key areas that i need to focus on

3. Are there any sample questions so that i can get an idea on the kind of questions?

Any information relating to the exam would be really helpful

Hi :

In addition to points mentioned above , there are also question with more than one correct answers . Distribution between modules is fixed almost in every exam . Some of the sample questions are like

1. The following can be done in SNP.

A. Cross-Plant Mid-Term rough cut bucket oriented planning

B. Simultaneous material and capacity planning

C. Detail Planning

D. Prioritizations of demands & receipts

2. The following is true for APO Planning

A. SNP Planning takes place outside the SNP production Horizon

B. SNP horizon can start after some time the PP/DS horizon is ended.

C. SNP orders are pegged orders based on order based planning

D. Time continuous & detail planning is done in SNP.

E. SNP planning is finite & bucket oriented planning.

F. Time based aggregation of demand is done in SNP Planning

G. CTM in SNP gives the first feasible plan while optimizer gives optimum feasible plan.

3. The output of Demand planning in APO is

A. Constrained based Demand plan

B. PIR

C. Unconstrained Demand plan.

D. Planned order.

4. PP/DS planned orders can be rescheduled in SNP under the following circumstances.

A. In the SNP horizon by Heuristic, CTM or optimizer sum.

B. By SNP planning in PP/DS horizon

C. Cannot be changed in SNP since in SNP PP/DS orders are treated as fixed receipt.

5. SNP is characterized by.

A. Cross plant finite planning

B. Sequece planning

C. Planning across all location to cover the demand with supply.

Hi Sachin,

I would suggest read the course books thoroughlyand practice the excercises at the each chapter.

Ration of Questions is generally

CIF - approx 10

DP - approx 20

SNP - approx 20

PPDS- approx 20

Couple of guys gave me had different ratio too like PPDS 35 questions and less from DP/SNP.

This is the some questions some one posted earlier may be certification questions.go through it once:

1 The output of demand planning in APO is

A Constrained based demand plan

B PIR

C Unconstrained Demand plan

D Planned order

2 Subassembly planning strategy 70 in R/3 gets transferred to APO as requirement strategy 20 with following indicator

A Mixed MRP indicator 1

B Time indicator

C Assembly Planning indicator

3 data fields changed in R/3 material master are transferred to APO in

A Real time as change transfer

B Transferred as delta transfer when the integration model is executed

C Entire material master is retransferred

D Only the changed field is transferred

4 The product master fields which are not transferred from R/3 to APO are maintaine in APO By

A Mass Maintenance in APO

B R/3 material master record can be enhanced with customer specific fields and thes fields can be transferred through integration model using customer exit

C Product master can not be maintained in APO at all

5 The following resources can be transferred from R/3 to APO

A Production Resources

B Transportation Resources

C Bucket resource

D Single Activity Resources

Answers:

1. C - Only unconstrainted Demand Plan will be generated by DP. This when sent to SNP or R/3 will be coming as PIR.

2. C

3. A & C - If the integration model is active, any change in R/3 for master data happens in realtime through change transfer and it retransfers whole of the master data rather than just fields.

Just search for Certification in the APO Forum and you would find a list of queries on this topic. Go through these queries and i am sure most of your doubts would be clarified.

1. What would be the best way to prepare?

a. Read through the manuals several times over and understand the concepts well.

b. Read through the help.sap and sdn forums. Be strong with the concepts.

c. Revise the manuals again and again.

2. Are there any key areas that i need to focus on?

The question would be vary from different areas like APO overview, CIF, Demand Planning, SNP and PPDS.

APO Overview < 10%

CIF <10%

DP >20%

SNP >20%

PPDS >20%

3. Are there any sample questions so that i can get an idea on the kind of questions?

There is no Sample questions avaiable. Better you search in the SDN forums and i am sure you would find some. Most of the questions would be of multiple choice.
