Hi Allain,

I can't tell about PI but MI documentations explicitly specifies that it is recommended to be run on a sepaarte box.

It will definitely work if that advice is not followed but if you run into synchronisation or replication performance issue SAP response if you raise a message will be "Follow documentaion, install separately, then come back to us".

Just for your information, MI tends to be big box in production environment. It has, in a way, two databases on it:

1. Replicated backend data (equipment,s, functional locations, partners, etc). as required by the mobilized business processes.

2. a DB of all devices synchronisations, that allows MI only send up/down delta data changes sync the last sync, as well as keep truck on everything that was downloaded for monitoring and conflict resolution purposes. The more mobile users you have the bigger this DB is.

Hi,

it is really not recommended - but it will work. The biggest issue is: MI needs a large machine if it comes to a hughe number of syncs at the same time. Furthermore it holds a complete copy of the necessary data of the ERP system to make delta delivery more easy.

These are the two main reasons for having a dedicated machine - beside several others - but a the end it is not really a probem to have several scenarios on the same server working. Even I do not know any customer who has this in productive environment, cause of SAP support for example.
