Hi manjula,
If your system is test environment and you dont have importent data to take backup, you can directly delete ORAARC files. If u dont want ORAARC files further then u can set to NOARCHIVE LOGMODE using SAPDBA tool (for 4.7EE) or BRTOOLS (greather then 4.7EE systems).
Thanks,

Hii
Ours is IDES but not Development or Production ..
why I am thinking to delete them is Abap'rs have
many progrms in the server so that's what is making me
think whether to delete them or not ..also I am not able
to figure which oraarch files to delete and which to remain
...........Also if you know the importance of these files plz
let me know.also about clearing shared and cache memory.

hi manula,
whatever be the sap system . it may be a DEV , QAS, PRD, IDES system the ORA ARCH files are important files.
so it is very important to take a backup of these files. after taking backup of files u can use the BRTOOLS OPTIONS for ECC6.0 or SAPDBA OPTIONS to delete those files.
it is very important that the files must be deleted only after taking the backup.

is this SAP is personal system?
are you taking regular backups?
if this is your personal SAP system you can delete them
if it is a production system take a backup then delete
