I tried to use the XPath interface (part of JAXP) in Java mapping but got an error. Then I found out that the XPath interface is not present in J2SE 1.4.2 but is new in J2SE 5.0 which has some quite useful new functionality.
Has anyone tried using J2SE5.0 with XI? Can I update the J2SE version without impacting the XI installation?

Hi Felix,
I used another alternative....I am trying out DOM4J (http://www.dom4j.org) in XI which is very powerful. I have used it in the past & have seen it gone to production at a major client. Let me know if you have any questions about it. Thanks!

Amjad,
I don't think you can but, you can try this.
Stop the server and uninstall jdk 1.4.2 and install jdk 1.5 in the same folder which jdk 1.4.2 used to reside.
Please tell me the results... If the server doesn't start, uninstall jdk1.5 and reinstall jdk 1.4.2 in the same folder (which you gave during installation).
best regards,
Felix
