Calibration vs Inspection Plan

Hi QM Gurus,

I have measured diameter by using Micrometer or any other instrument.

My requirement is if the instrument is not calibrated that time system will not allow to carry the result recording for particular character which is measured be the Non - calibrated instrument.

Please advice.

Hi,

As suggested by Craig you can create equipment as PRT and assign it to operation in inspection plan but even though equipment calibration is expired , system will not stop the resulting reocrding as system does not check equipment status while result recording. you may need to user user exit to activate this functionality.

The instrument has to be created as equipment. The equipment is assigned as a PRT to the workcenter operation for the results being recorded. If the equipment assigned is unavailable, (in the equipment master), then the result should not be allowed to be recorded.

The equipment can then be setup for regular calibration.
