Former Member

We have SAP NW2004s PI/XI system.

When we have configured the ALM with required settings, but Alerts are taking time to come in RWB-Alert Inbox.

In RWB end to end monitoring, configuration has been setup to updates every 5 mins.

Please let me know if I have missed any settings.

Thanks,

SamirV.

Hi All,

Thanks for the information, but not useful to resovle the issue.

But, I have already gone through all these threads and most of all others.

Let me know if you are aware of exact setting which can help me to get alert in the alert inbox quickly.

Currently it is taking long time aroung 45 minutes.

Thanks,

Sam

Hi Sam,

Check the priority that have set for this Alert Notification at the time of Alert Configuration.

Generally the Priority is given first to the data provided by the triggering application, second to the BAdI ALERT_EXP_DATE, and third to this field in the alert category definition.

If your alert category is of least priority and there are other alert notifications are scheduled then that might affect the processing time of trigerring the alerts.

Thanks

Swarup

Thanks Ashmi and Sanjeev for your quick reply.

Alert are coming RWB-Alert Inbox.

But the issue is taking long time to come in Inbox. It will be come to Inbox after around 1 hr time after error is generated.

Even, I can not see those log entry immedaitely in SLG1.

Please let me know if any additional configuration is requried.

1. TCODE - ALRTCATDEF ->choose Settings->configuration , make sure you have the logging parameter checked.

Yes, It has been already checked.

2. go to TCODE - SICF

Yes, It has been already activated.

Thanks,

Hi,

In your RWB check if the monitoring systems have atleast medium monitoring level

Else change it to medium or high level monitoring.

Kindly check the troubleshooting document by Michal Krawczyk

/people/michal.krawczyk2/blog/2005/09/09/xi-alerts--troubleshooting-guide

Also once again check your Alert configuration with

Hi,

If you don't receive any alert into your alertinbox but you believe that they are triggered check if the alerts were created:

go to TCODE - ALRTCATDEF ->choose Settings->configuration

- make sure you have the logging parameter checked

go to TCODE - SLG1, then choose object "ALERT" and from here you can check if your alert was generated or not

If you cannot open your alert inbox (from TCODE - ALRTINBOX or from RWB)

check if your alert inbox service is properly activated in SICF:

go to TCODE - SICF

- check if the service alertinbox is activated (you can test it from here)

If still your alerts don't get triggered one more time take a look at:
