Query: VOV8

Dear All,

Can anyone explain me the purpose of the following in VOV8.

1. Enter PO Number checkbox

2. Commitment date

Please explain in simple terms in addition to/different from the sap help available.

1.If you check the purchase order no in vovo8 then it become a mandoatory field in sales order and the sysytem will noy allow you to save the document without enetr the purchase order no.

2.The commitment date is mainly used for releasing of contracts with delivery times, where you have multiple options to define.

1) If you select this field, without maintaining PO number in sale order VA01, system wont allow you to save the document. Also above this field (Enter PO number), there is one more field "check purchase order no", which is nothing but, while creating sale order, in the PO number tab, if you try to enter a PO number which is already exists in SAP, system will just give a caution message and you can ignore that.

2) The commitment date is mainly used for releasing of contracts with delivery times, where you have multiple options to define. If you press F1 in VOV8 against the said field, the options are explained in detail and I am sure, you can understand the explanation given therein.
